Foundation for Economic Research On Disruptive Innovation

We are entrepreneurs and economists, studying disruptive innovation. Why were steam engines invented in Great Britain around 1800, and internal combustion engines invented in Europe around 1900? Why has the United States led the tech revolution, with semiconductors, PCs, internet, the cloud and now AI? Will the next industrial revolutions come from China or India?

Mission

Promote and fund research to define scenarios fostering disruptive innovation and economic growth. Why are some countries more proficient than others at developing new technologies that create economic value and jobs. What is needed to achieve this?

Vision

Disruptive innovation is a crucial ingredient of economic growth and population well-being, as demonstrated by history, from the mill to the internal combustion engine, the internet, smartphones, and now AI. Our research paves the way for innovation that makes society richer and more competitive.
